Hello all,

Sorry about not being able to post last night. Our hotel was on the outskirts of Rothenburg and we didn't have access to internet. But that didn't stop us from having fun, despite what some kids thought. We started out the day by going to the Dachau Concentration Camp, which is located outside of Munich. Dachau was the first camp that the Nazi party had set up to hold people because of the over crowding of the prisons. We toured through a museum there and then toured the grounds. We were able to go through the barracks and then we were able to go through the gas chamber and crematorium. Needless to say, it was a pretty depressing visit, but everyone got a lot out of it. I think we often forget how easy we have it today in our world. But going to a place like that makes you appreciate our freedoms. Well on that note, we then got on the bus and Peter, our bus driver, made us some sausages. Once back on the bus we headed to Rothenburg, which is one of the oldest cities in Germany. We walked around the old city and did some shopping. Once we gathered back up, we went to our hotel which was in the suburbs of Rothenburg. It was a really small farming community, you could smell manure right out of the windows (not kidding). For supper last night, we ate at a German restaurant near our hotel.

Today we are in Heidelberg, but a lot of places are closed due to it being Good Friday. We are staying in a small hotel tonight that is in the middle of the forest. If were lucky, hopefully they will have indoor plumbing, running water and American toilet paper.

I heard that visiting Dacheau was a very sombering experience. I am glad you all can find something to do even without Internet access :P. Thanks for continueing to keep us all posted on how everything is going on the trip! Oh, and just a side note, I LOVE that picture with Frau Weir in the center looking all gangsta. Ha!
